You will find that there are a number of different bible verses about healing. Healing in the Bible is a very much overlooked subject, from a practical point of view. It is funny how people hardly ever associate the Bible with healing. A very potent scripture for healing, can be found in:
24 Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.
25 And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
This scripture should certainly be one that is quoted more often. I don’t know about you? but this is a clear incentive to worship the father properly for me! These words are specifically directed at the Israelite’s, but other nations, are also included.
29 Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.
In Exodus 23:26, we can clearly see, that the father will prevent us from getting any sickness, if we endeavour to keep his laws. Knowing all of this, all nations around the Earth have a reason to keep the commandments of YHWH.
Today, there seems to be an unprecedented faith, in doctors, and there non healing powers, in the form of medicines and concoctions. I say this, because most of the time medication is given to lessen the pain, rather than to heal that ailment.
What we should all keep in mind, is that if we follow the Scriptures on healing, we can prevent sickness, rather than have to heal it, which is always the best course of action, if you ask me.
Healing in the Bible, where it was done once a sickness had been contracted, is often seen as a miracle. In many cases, we see that Messiah healed people, that were not necessarily keeping the commandments of YHWH.
This I think it’s something that we can avoid today as believers if we keep the commandments. In- fact we should make this one of our main goals?
Some of the most popular healing are the healing of the blind, Lepers, the paralyzed, a woman with bleeding issues, and many others.
Here we shall concentrate on the scripture for healing, concerning the Messiah and a man that had a sickness for eight years. The reason why I want to concentrate on this healing, is because after the Messiah heals him ye tells the man to sin no more.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the
water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
This gives us a clear indication, of how our sins are connected to sicknesses, that we can get.
